Gender Dimensions in Leadership – Inclusive Leadership Program
Equitable and inclusive coaching skills are THE must have skillset for leaders today. Competitive companies and successful leaders utilize them extensively. Yet understanding how gender influences perceptions in leadership and expectations of who should lead, and how, has a significant impact on this. With low engagement at work, out-moded rhetoric and advice around women leaders (sadly perceived as current), and a lack of men's voices at the table, Gender Dimensions in Leadership – Inclusive Leadership Program has been designed for leaders and coaches to learn these fundamental skills.

The program is revolutionary in its approach, providing leaders direct, practical, immediately applicable leadership and coaching skills. These skills, when applied, lead to more inclusive workplaces, higher employee engagement and the successful implementation of DEI&B strategies. This leadership and coaching program teaches participants how to coach on the following issues to create action and change:
- the business case for using more inclusive leadership behaviors
- our flawed definitions and expectations of leaders
- conscious and unconscious bias around gender that effects everyone
- gender norms, their influence and why sexism effects everyone
- emotional intelligence
- a correct understanding of the deeper issues specific to men and specific to women in leadership
- confidence and competence
- behavioral and perceptual issues
The course provides a comprehensive framework on how to lead and coach to create inclusive work cultures. It’s a must-have for leaders, leadership development training programs, coaches and those working in DE&I and the HR space. It moves organisations powerfully through theory, extensive research and case studies, helping participants apply that knowledge in the practice of core competency coaching skills. Skills that lead to outstanding results. Acquisition of these in the context of improved business performance through diversity, equality and inclusion lead to successful, innovative, highly engaged workplaces, teams, and a loyal, wider customer base.
Leaders develop an ethical coaching skillset, specifically developing a greater sensitivity to others’ identity, environment, experiences, values and beliefs in the contexts of leadership, and personal identifiers. The importance of cultural, systemic and structural awareness is also highlighted, as is the importance of an ongoing reflective practice. The skills of listening actively are also developed further. The program evokes awareness by facilitating client insight and learning, using tools and techniques such as powerful questioning, silence, metaphor or analogy. It uses supporting resource development materials around leadership and gender.
The program enables leaders and coaches to facilitate people’s growth by managing progress and accountability. Participants learn how to consider the clients’ experience more effectively, which might have some perceived or real non-inclusive element to it. It enables them to guide others beyond their current thinking and empower them further. Specifically, leaders and coaches learn how to help others identify factors that influence current and future patterns of behavior, thinking or emotion, and in reframing those perspectives for more successful outcomes.
