I attended the Leadership program led by Sarah Drijfhout and was extremely impressed with not only the content, but also with the diversity of participants in the program. I’ve worked on diversity issues for almost my entire corporate career, so I came into the program not sure how much new information I would actually learn. I surprised myself! The cohort team ranged in experience and the diversity of participant experience made for some very insightful and thoughtful conversations. Do this program. You’ll be more successful as an organization, and as an individual as a result.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

I can honestly say that that the time spent with Sarah, the team and on reading and discussing the recommended articles, books, homework, etc. was both rewarding and enriching to me as a male leader and influencer of people. Now that I am better armed with awareness of meaningful real-life sub-conscious potential bias, it has now empowered me on how to highlight and help address the role that male leaders need to play in requiring and finding an "equitable selection process" to identify and promote the most competent talent in the workplace. Thanks to Sarah for helping me become a better leader.

What’s resonated most with me over the programme includes: a deeper understanding of how embedded gender stereotypes are in our societal and individual psyches. This could work really well for brave organisations who are comfortable enough to do something like this with their clients- now there’s an idea! At the heart of this subject matter is becoming an excellent leader, with a balance of taking charge and taking care behaviours, we should all be capable of.
